"Global Portable Buildings, Inc. (GPB), based in California, with a facility in New Orleans, has the capacity to immediately produce thousands of low cost, transportable, hurricane resistant housing units to assist with the emergency housing and reconstruction needs in New Orleans.
GPB manufactures low cost, multi-purpose, transportable buildings from new ISO standard containers (8' x 20' and 8' x 40'), which are transported by cargo container ships, air, rail or truck to any destination in the world. These versatile buildings are ideal for emergency shelters/housing, construction housing/field offices, mining camps, military camps/ command and control centers, etc. GPB also offers multiple connecting units for dining rooms, clinics, classrooms, etc.
Rugged and durable, GPB housing units require no foundations, and can withstand hurricanes, earthquakes tornadoes, etc. Each unit includes AC volt electrical system with lights and wall plugs, windows, entrance door, two inches of rigid insulated finished walls/ceiling, vinyl floor covering and utility room. Options include a complete bathroom and kitchen and the 40' unit also has an optional bedroom/office. All GPB models are available for immediate delivery from California; and for inspection and immediate sale from their facility in New Orleans.
